The World Championships 2015 in Herning are over and it is time for us to celebrate the success of Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir fr\u00e1 Halakoti, who became a World Champion with 9,03 for ridden abilities, 8,31 for conformation, and a total of 8,74. Outside of Iceland, Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir is the stallion with the second highest score in the world for ridden abilities: 9,04 (scored in Hella in 2015). .<\/p>\n

Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir was bred by Kristj\u00e1n Finnsson, Svanhv\u00edt Kristj\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir (Svana), and Einar \u00d8der Magn\u00fasson. He was sired by R\u00f6kkvi fr\u00e1 H\u00e1rlaugsst\u00f6\u00f0um and Gl\u00f3\u00f0 fr\u00e1 Gr\u00f3teyri and born in Halakot in 2003..<\/p>\n

Pur Cheval has been Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir’s co-owner since early 2010. Nearly 6 years ago, while in Halakot, Einar \u00d8der Magnusson and \u00d3lafur \u00d3lafsson handshook an agreement to work together on taking this promising horse to the World Championships. Four people shared that dream: Einar and Svanhv\u00edt, the breeders, trainers, and owners of Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir, and Ingibj\u00f6rg and \u00d3lafur, the founders of Pur Cheval. Einar and Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir’s amazing performance which led to their victory at Landsm\u00f3t 2012, was an important step towards that dream.<\/p>\n

Sadly, as many of you already know, Einar, Svanhv\u00edt\u2019s husband, passed away early this year. There was a unique bond between Einar and his horse, so we prepared ourselves for the fact that Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir would not be going to Herning.
\nHowever, Svana who had been involved in his training all along, was determined to carry out the dream. She got Dan\u00edel J\u00f3nsson, a good friend of Einar’s, on board to show Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir. The results in Herning were amazing and we applaud Svana for her hard work and determination. She is an amazing Lady!<\/p>\n
