Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir wins the World Toelt<\/p>\n[\/mk_title_box][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]At Pur Cheval, February ended with Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir participating to the World Toelt. A competition in which Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir once again proved his success by getting the best score from the judges as well as being chosen to be the winner by the audience. It is fantastic for us to see the impact this stallion and what he means to us is having on the Icelandic Horse world.<\/p>\n

Few were those whose eyes were still dry when J\u00f3hann Sk\u00falason, Svanhv\u00edt Kristj\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir and Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir received their price while the presenter was honouring Einar\u00a0\u00d8der’s memory.<\/p>\n

We strongly encourage everyone to go to the World Toelt which is a fantastic show presenting high level horses in the sport’s classes. The german riders left everyone with a great impression through their beautiful and precise performances.<\/p>\n

Trip to Iceland<\/p>\n[\/mk_title_box][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”20″]Directly after the World Toelt, Charlotta flew to Iceland to visit our horses in Mi\u00f0hraun. Like always in Iceland, the skies were blue, the snow was fresh and smooth and a light breeze freshened the air.<\/p>\n

The main task of the trip was to observe the herd and decide which horses will be imported to France this year. A small group was chosen to travel in April: J\u00f6kull, Kl\u00f6pp, Baltasar, \u00de\u00f3r and Gnarr. A three year old mare named Polka will also be travelling with them. She is Sif’s full sister, a great riding mare we sold about a year ago.<\/p>\n

A group of foals was also selected by Charlotta to come to France in September.[\/vc_column_text][mk_gallery column=”3″ height=”500″ frame_style=”simple” disable_title=”false” order=”ASC” orderby=”menu_order” images=”3207,3211,3217″ collection_title=”J\u00f6kull, Gnarr, \u00de\u00f3r & Baltasar”][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]\n

The next step of the trip was to go to Berg, where two of our horses are being trained: The stallion Herm\u00f3\u00f0ur fr\u00e1 Mi\u00f0hrauni, which we hope will go to breeding show this year and Ofsi fr\u00e1 Mi\u00f0hrauni, a three year old son of Ar\u00f0ur fr\u00e1 Brautarholti and Valgr\u00e1 fr\u00e1 Ketilsst\u00f6\u00f0um which has evolved a lot in the past few months and will now enjoy a well deserved holiday.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][mk_image src=”http:\/\/www.purcheval.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Ofsi-1-resized-1.jpg” image_width=”800″ image_height=”250″ crop=”false” lightbox=”false” frame_style=”simple” target=”_self” title=”Ofsi fr\u00e1 Mi\u00f0hrauni” caption_location=”outside-image” align=”center” margin_bottom=”10″][mk_divider style=”thick_solid” divider_width=”full_width” margin_top=”10″ margin_bottom=”10″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Finally, the last phase of the trip brought Charlotta to Halakot, Svanhv\u00edt’s farm where we always have a few horses being trained. This time, Korm\u00e1kur and Ur\u00f0ur were there.<\/p>\n

Korm\u00e1kur, a beautiful black stallion sired by Gl\u00f3\u00f0afeykir and Limra fr\u00e1 Kirkjub\u00e6 2 left a great impression on Charlotta. He is elegant and has a great presence. We believe a lot in his potential and it will be very interesting to follow his evolution through time.<\/p>\n

Ur\u00f0ur, a 6 year old mare sired by S\u00e6dynur fr\u00e1 M\u00fala and Maja fr\u00e1 Dallandi, also shows a lot of potential and we hope she will get good grades when shown for\u00a0breeding this summer.<\/p>\n
