The Icelandic Horse in Iceland

The biggest equestrian event in Iceland is a national competition called “Landsmot” which happens every two years.
The country’s best breeding and sport horses gathers there and the event attracts thousands of spectators.

One day per year, in September, the herd owners bring their horses back from the open lands. It is an extremely important day in the Icelandic life, a folkloric tradition not to be missed.
