Great success for Charlotta at Grenzlandhof!

Last weekend, Charlotta took Hrísey frá Langholtsparti, Hylur frá Miðhrauni and Eyður frá Halakoti to Grenzlandhof’s annual competition (Germany). Her goal was to qualify for the Mid European Championships (MEM) where she and Hylur frá Miðhrauni ended in second place in T3 two years ago.

Charlotta and Hrísey danced around the track and got great results. They lead both the T3 (tölt) and V2 (fourgait) during the preliminaries with 6.23 in T3 and 6.27 in V2. They then won the T3 with 6.61 and ended up in second place in the V2 with 6.37!

Then came Hylur with whom Charlotta competed in T1 (first class tölt) and gave a first try to F2 (fivegait) and P3 (100m pace race). T1 went very well: Charlotta and Hylur ended in third position with the final score of 6.0. In the fivegait, the equipage also landed in third position with 5.70 including a 6.3 from one of the judges which made us very proud. We are sure that as soon as the trot and walk get a little more secure and fluid, Hylur will be a great a great five-gaiter. Last came the pace test. Hylur was not very fast but it was a great exercise for him and he will probably enrol in Pace Test next as he is beautiful to look at on the track.

Eyður also did a great job, winning the F2 with 5.87 in the preliminaries, and getting between 6 and 6.5 for all gaits except for pace in the final. A little more training and lighter boots will make him absolutely brilliant! He and Charlotta also competed in T4 (tölt on lose reins) for the first time. This was a little trickier but the main goal was achieved: staying in tölt!

The Pur Cheval team is extremely thankful to Dieter and Silvia Becker as well as their team for their fantastic organisation (as usual)! They made Charlotta, Cherie, the horses and Baylie feel more than welcome.

We are now waiting impatiently to know whether or not Charlotta qualified for the MEM. We will of course let you know as soon as we get the info.
