The Promotion of the Icelandic Horse in France (PCIF) was formally launched in the summer of 2013, as previously posted here on our website, with a presentation to the press by our PUR CHEVAL Team. Some of the best riders, trainers and breeders of the Icelandic Horse were brought together with a common goal: to share their passion of the Icalndic Horse with the french, and introduce the Icelandic Horse to their equestrian market.
Several encounters have been made since then and the article below is a summary of the main milestones so far.
June 2013
Media – Cheval Pratique in Huilerie – The launch
In June, the stables at the Huilerie hosted several professionals from the french equestrian media (Cheval Pratique magazine and Sophie Thalmann for the TV station Equidia). They were introduced to the pleasure of tölt, awed by the speed of flying pace and captivated by the incredible personality of this tough, but gentle animal, straight from the land of ice and fire.
Everyone left with an incredible sensation of speed, safety and novelty. Far from being a simple breed, the Icelandic Horse brought it’s audience a completely new experience, as they were plunged into a deeply rooted equestrian culture in which the lives of men, horses and nature are all fused into one.
As the results from this event emerged we were pleased to find out that the cover of the magazine had been dedicated to this event; “The Icelandic Horse, a ride for the whole family” accompanied by a beautiful photo of one of our horses, Snilld from Bjarnarnesi in tölt and Seline Rasmussen from the Pur Cheveal Team. Inside there was a six page long article describing the incredible character of the Icelandic Horse and the joy it brings to people of all ages.
September 2013
Media – Equidia in Iceland
After being presented to the operation in France what is more appropriate than visiting the native land of the Icelandic Horse. Two different teams were taken to Iceland in September.
The first trip was dedicated to filming the Equidia serie “Réve de randonné” or “An amazing riding trip” by Caroline Avon and directed by Pascal Draper. There were some wonderful encounters on that trip. The riders invited, were from the French Vaulting Team; Nicolas Andreani the world champion, Rémy Hombecq and Clément Taillez . Three young men who have a thirst for discovery and love to share their equestrian culture of vaulting with Icelanders. It turned out to be an unforgettable week for all, and it will be shared with you on Equidia Life in January 2014.
